Tip of tongue yellow is this normal?

Hi there, my beardie is 7 half months old, i`ve noticed the tip of his tongue has gone yellow, is this normal? i`am quite a experience owner. this his my second lizard has my first one died of cyctic mass tumours. oh ps he`s on panacure meds is this why. see picture on link.

well i know that BlueBelles tounge is a little white on the tip with a black mark....like this

i think it shows in this pic....and i THINK that the tip of the tounge being a little off colour is normal, ive seen it in alot of bearide pictures...if her mouth is pink and looks healthy, then that is a good sign, is she/he eating right and hydrated well? getting good UV light? acting normal, sleeping normal all that?

you cant really see the discoloration b/c its not super prominent, but the very tip og her toune is a light shade whiteish a little yellow tint with a black mark....

anything like this?

oh dear, mines no where like that!! mind you he`s on panacur 0.15ml could this be whythe tip of his tongue his yellow.

I am interested as well. It only happened once with my beardie and BOTH my vets said it was perfectly normal, not a bad thing whatsoever...even the mouth can have yellow in it and be normal.

I told them I was certain it indicated liver failure (I even posted about it on here lol) and they assured me that there are many stronger indicators that would be present with liver failure and jaundice of the tongue and mouth is just one...also that the entire tongue would be yellow and this would happen after other symptoms arose.

So...I am interested in what other vets have said to other owners here.

I don't worry about the white/yellow color tip anymore...seems to come and go

ive never yet to have an expirience with Pancur ..... but i will keep giving you a bump up so that people see this and can help you...she has always had that little black mark on the tip since she was hatchling...

yeah i have the same thing, he has the tip yellow but not as yellow as in the picture you took. It might be because of the parasites he had but just finished the treatment, so will seen if it goes away. And another thing about kidney damge or failure, i have a question about that. Im not completey sure of it but when a bearides eyes are sunken in like a person when their really tired its a sign of kdney failure.Mine doesnt have it all the time but when i give him baths they get really sunkin in alot. But its only in the bath tube, also just to tell you he's not dehydrated because he gets his greens everyday plus a misting of water on them. Anything wrong with that?

Hi there all, took to vets this morning, can you believe it, he had a look in his mouth and the yellow tongue had gone!! i showed him the picture on my phone i took. it was back to normal, i asked if the panacure had caused this, the vet said no. properly some think he has eaten.what ? salad of crickets.

took to vets see above post got him home, back in the vivarium , he warmed up and......yes you guest it his tongue tip is yellow again! i wonder if its the Uv lighting making his tongue look yellow? has in the vets under normal lighting and the lizard cold the tongue was normal, very strange!

That's really something. Have you been feeding squash perhaps or anything else that color? What UVB are you using (type and brand) and what is the distance of it?

No not feeding squash has yet, the uv tube is a reptiglow 10, 20wats. its about 15 inch from bottom of cage but he does climb high, he will be going in to a higher cage when i have finished it.

ReptiGlo is bad. Some beardie owners are kinda good with it like me no problems nothing yet. still we wanna change it to a ReptiSUN 10.0 TUBE. buy reptisun its the best or Arcadia.

def want the 10.0 TUBE ReptiSun for beardies .... and i know i may have mentioned it before but a lighter area on the tip of the tougne is just normal in some beardies, ive talked to alot of people who's beardies tounge tip is lighter, it could just be that is how your beardies tounge tip will look like
If he is hydrated, eating well, has good light/dark cycles, good UV, alert, temps are good, pooping good, i dont think you have anythin to worry about all....i think Blue's little light yellow tip is adorable They all have different characteristics, and maybe that is just part of your beardie And it can come and go too, keepin us on our toes, teehee.
