I have a male bearded dragon named Leaf who is roughly 3 years old (they didn't know his exact age/birthday/birth month when i got him) and i want to take him to my acting class tonight. There's roughly 50 people in the class, but of course there's usually around 10, give or take some, who can't make it for whatever reason. Leaf has been basking, or at least in his basking area, presumably all day (he's in just about the same spot as he was when i left for school this morning). If i leave for the class around 4:40-5pm today, and i usually get home at almost exactly 8pm, would this be okay? I live in Florida so it is not cold at all outside yet, and we'd be inside anyways, where it's usually i assume about 70F, just an estimation. Yes, the director already said she is fine with me bringing him, and the activity level in the class is usually very low this time of year as we typically are only learning songs and harmonies (for the musical we're all in). If he gets stressed or frightened, i plan to put him under my sweatshirt (but still on top of my shirt so it won't hurt me) so he'll feel safer, i also have a towel for both the container that he'll be in in the car, and just if i feel like he'd like to be wrapped in the towel. I wouldn't let a whole lot of people crowd around and would probably only let a few people hold him, and knowing his nature, it is very unlikely that he would somehow end up running loose in the room. So, what's y'all's opinions on this? Will he be okay?

Make sure he has a private secure spot like his own playpen or duffel bag. Then if he gets stressed or overwhelmed he can go there or under your shirt.

It really depends on your beardie and how social they are and how used to people they are. I take my girl out in public and she is usually very curious and interested in the surroundings. I have a scarf I use as a sling so she can sleep on me or poke her head out and i can keep my hands free. She is supported so she doens't have to hang on by herself.

I agree that if he's pretty social in general he should be fine. I second the idea of having a secure space for him. Maybe a duffel bag with a towel or blanket at the bottom so he can retreat to that. He may get tired that late in the day and look for a cozy place to sleep.

I don't think I would chance stressing him out. My dragon is very social but, I couldn't handle it if she was to get stressed around that many people, jump and run and get hurt.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
