Time for brumation?

I don't know if my beardie is just getting lazy or its time for Brumation. I changed his lights at about 9am eastern, and gave him veggies at that time. I went on with my day, picked up some crickets as I had run out, came home around 5 pm and he was still under his log in the cooler tank side. I moved it to see if he was okay, he looked up then moved back under it. I gave him a bath, and he seemed content and less hyper than usual, then fed him, he gobbled up his crickets. I moved his log to the warmer side of his cage, in case he does keep going under it to relax so it isn't as cold at least. After eating he went back in, tried to dig through the glass for a minute, then just laid there. Should I be worried or is it about that time? (I live in Michigan so its fallish weather atm)

I live in Phoenix and it seems like Miss Buddy is going into brumation. It's so hard to tell when they first start but she's not eating much at all right now and sleeping on the cold side constantly. It's cooling down here but for Phx that means its upper 80s.

I wouldn't be too worried unless he starts to lose a lot of weight. But if he does eat, put him under the heat for awhile.

I didn't want to make a new topic, hopefully this is seen. Is there a post where I can read what to really do during brumation? I am hearing a few different things. He is hiding in his log for days at a time sleeping, I get a bit worried as this is my first time dealing with an animal who does this kind of thing. My uncle who has owned a few lizards says I should wake him up every 5 days (if he hasn't on his own) to hydrate and give him a small meal. Is that what I do? He slept for a few days woke up, so I gave him a few crickets and a warm bath, then he went back in. I really don't want to stress him out by forcing him to wake up or anything.
