Tile: glazed vs non-glazed?

For those who use tile, which do you use?

Unglazed would be rough feeling and would keep nails trimmed, and would most likely absorb heat better. Though would it be an issue to clean being it's not glazed? Glazed would be smooth or slick like, doesn't sound like it would do much for nails and heat but certainly sounds easier to keep clean. On other question, do you adhere and grout your tile in your enclosure?

Non-glazed

I used a Natural Travertine. Mind you it is 18" and Lowe's will not cut it on their in-store wet saw due to the fact it won't fit on their wet saw, I had to find another mean to get it cut, but it worked out great.

It has rough enough areas on the tile to keep the nails down but yet smooth enough to not collect fecal causing a cleaning issue. However, if a mess is left in the cracks the sides are a sponge. You would need to remove the tile and clean it. I have been wanting to seal the edges and around the bottom a bit with modge podge to prevent this, but giving it isn't a huge issue, I have put it off.

[Edit] - Here is a glimpse at it in my Viv.

Cutting it shouldn't be an issue we have a tile cutter, it's just a pain to use. Never hard of travertine before, will have to look into that more. Nice looking Viv. I was planing on doing some slate rock as well, that is slate right?

Travertine is a marble, a rather porous marble (as I edited above it will act a sponge along the edges unless sealed up).

The type I purchased has the porous hole fitted so it doesn't have cavities that would potentially catch a toe/nail and hurt it.

The other stones used as a basking area are slate. I purchased 1"x12"x12" tiles from Lowe's Lawn and Garden area I smashed up to get bits and pieces. Going to a Landscaping business that sells bulk stone would have sold Slate Flagstone, which I think would have works out much better and for A LOT cheaper.
This is an earlier version of the Viv with the Slate if interested: http://i.imgur.com/t7NYI.jpg You can see more of the bits and pieces put together. "Glued" with Aquarium Silicone since I had some left from sealing the edged of the Viv in case of spilt liquids. Liquid nails would have worked just as well.

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
