so tonight i turned off my dragons lights for the night as usual and was on the computer when i heard him jump off his platform, which is weird because he is usually pretty much instantly asleep. when i turned around to see what he was doing i saw him with his mouth wide open as far as it could go and he was shaking his head back and forth. By the time i got to the tank he finally spit up this green wad of what he had eaten i guess. Im just wondering if this is common, what might have caused it, and if i should be worried. I did just give him mustard greens for the first time today and he loved them. So im thinking that maybe the switch was hard on his system? it just scared me since i had never seen it before. Right after he got it up he seemed fine, he just looked at me and then casually walked back up his platform and went to sleep so im not as worried now. Any input would be appreciated

the first thing to check would be your temps. If they're not high enough, they can't digest their food. Another thing could be them eating too late. They need about 2 hours to digest their food. So no eating 2 hours before lights out.

There could be other things possibly, but temps is the most obvious and simplest thing to check and change if necessary. So you could rule that out first. I'm not as knowledgeable on illness and such, so I'll leave that to others who are.

This has happened to Harvey before when she first had mealworms. She absolutely loved them, and gobbled them all up. I think you're right, perhaps it happens with new foods. Just take it easy and build up the amount slowly next time.
