There are several beardies around here that people are rehoming, but this one is the worst. I messaged the poster and she is under a heat light. The person didn't even know what a UVB was, but does give him calcium with d3 (I think, at least). I tried to talk his adoption fee down but he said no way, the tank was worth that alone. grrr.

I'm posting this here in hopes someone in the area can take her in. It's about a 2 hour drive for me, I'm in south(central)west indiana.

Thats the norm around here. I am automatically notified on my phone when an ad on CL matches one of my search terms (one of which is "bearded".) I can't believe how many times I see an ad for a garage sale that says something like "We have baby clothes, kids toys, a bearded dragon, tools, and more!"

As if this pet has somehow been reduced to a material possession.

People are *****s. Plain and simple.

ugh. I don't see how having a baby makes you have to rehome your dragon. We have a 3 year old, a 2 year old, and a 6 month old. They don't handle him, they just watch him through his viv. We always wash our hands. Also, how could a beardie in a viv being aggressive pose ANY risk to a child?! Ugh.
