Ok , so I didnt know this had already been posted here once, sorry. I googled "anatomy of bearded dragons" and got that. I had no idea untill I came across a find on page 2 of that search that led me to the "topic reply" on this forums.

Sorry for the repost.

-Even if it's been posted already, thanks, it was good to see. I'm amazed at how much substrate was stuck in its system. poor little guy.

I have a strong stomach and love horror movies and gore but :puke:

God, I feel so bad for having had my Gizmo on sand, Vita-Sand! This is what could have happened to him?!?!?! I just changed him to repti-carpet today but I wish I'd seen this sooner. I would have replaced the sand sooner.

By the way, he was only on sand 4 days and has gone to the bathroom regularly.

 While I am a biology freak, love dissecting frogs, pigs, mice, people  (cadavers), etc, I couldn't bear to dissect a beardie. Those are the exact same poker-things I used for my other dissections... and those little hands look just like Budo's...
While I agree, it is very informative, I would definitely :puke: .

Lol, you know you're living with beardies when... you are okay with dissecting humans, but not beardies.

Off topic... Herpfreak, you say you dissect cadavers, -do you mind me asking in what situation? -Study, work,... recreation? :p just wondering as I used to work as a mortuary tech a million years ago. (well, not quite that long)

I'm still in highschool; if I get to see a cadaver in the near future, I will only be sitting in and watching. My dad is a biochem prof at the U, and he may be able to get a med student to let me sit in on their dissection. I am seriously considering surgery as a profession, so it would be for educational purposes.

Cool! Med eh? that's a pretty tough road! good on you for considering the career. Y'know, I was always into medical stuff, but I couldn't be bothered dedicating like another 10 years of full time study and exams on top of high-school, I went the tertiary science route, and focussed my studies on medical/paramedical subjects. I majored in anatomy and cell biology, and then went on to do a grad dip in medical science. I used to work in anatomical pathology in a hospital as a histologist and for a time as a diener.

It's funny, my father was a biochemist as well, he had just finished his masters when he passed on, he was awarded fellowship to the australian society of biochemistry post-humorously, did some break through studies into 'blue-blooded babies' back in the mid 70's.

Ah, med cadavers! the smell of formalin in the dissecting room always made me pass out. people always though it was I couldn't stand being in a room full of corpses, but I was fine (as I said, I went on to be a mortuary tech where the bodies aren't pickled) until about an hour and a half of breathing in the fumes. :puke:

again, sorry for the off topic.

Yeah, I'm worried about whether I will have the dedication to make it... Anyways, tertiary science sounds really cool, too! :D

Yeah, it was what I always wanted to do, my school and family was trying to push me into med. but y'know, at like, 16-17, I didn't really have a clue 'what I wanted to do with the rest of my life'... I knew I had a morbid fascination, and my main aim was to dissect a cadaver, but after that?

As far as wondering if you're cut out for med, you can always try it, and if you don't feel you can make it, you can always move on to something else that interests you, it doesn't make you a failure!! (something that I was taught to believe back in high-school, they were pushing us all to be high achievers  )

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
