Alright, I was thinking of switching my bearded dragon from crickets to super worms. She is 9 months old right now and she is about 16 inches long. I was wondering if I would be able to feed her these as a staple, and if so how many should i give her a day and should I dust them with calcium powder. Thanks and any info that could help would be great. I belive it was wrong thread, sorry was looking on how to take care of them :D

Some people feed them as main staples when their beardies hit that size and some don't. I do tend to agree that the variety is better, but using them as a primary staple should be fine. The general recommendation seesm to be to ease them onto the supers slowly. Start with feeding only one or two per a day and closely monitor the poop to ensure they are being digested properly.

Yes, they should still be dusted just as any feeder. They are not super high in calcium like phoenix or butter worms.

As for how many in a day, at that age, I would say as many as she eats in 10-15mins twice a day for now. Hopefully someone with experience feeding the supers can answer that more definitively though.

9 months is when I started feeding my girl supers, I had no ill effects. I agree with patrickb saying that variety is best, but supers make great staples because they last much longer then adult crickets. Adult crickets die off pretty quick cause they are at the end of their lifespan. The other positive benefit is that they don't chirp!!!

Thanks for the replies so for just going to wait on a few more to make a concrete decision. I personally don't mind the chirping of the crickets at night, feels like I am camping.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
