THINKING about starting a dubia colony...

Okay, so i have been thinking about starting a dubia colony. I have one 10 month old bearded dragon. I figured i'd ask you guys how many i should start out with? like i said, i'm new to this and i was just looking for help. Crickets have just been too much, with the smell and all. what do the dubia eat and what maintenance does it take to keep the colony clean and healthy? also, what do you keep them in? would a 10 and 20 gal tank be good enough? how much does it cost to maintain them? sorry for all the questions! thanks for the help!

Well its simple, start out with as many as you can afford to start with. The more you have now that faster your colony will be established and self sustaining. Most of your dubia suppliers have a food that you can order. I house my breeder colonies in 45gallon rubbermaid tub, but you dont need something this large. Something dark and smooth on the inside will work just fine. The cost of maintaining them will be just food, heat and something for water. Good luck!

how many adults should i start with to only feed one bearded dragon, i dont wanna get over run with them!

Assume that one adult female will have 25-30 babies ever 40 days and use that to compare with how many feeders you are giving right now.

i'd say he eats about 20-25 crickets in a day. but he normally wont eat them everyday. when should he start leaning more towards the greens and less on the bugs?
