Thermostat/Thermometer-Hygrometer Recommendations

I've built a new enclosure for one of our beardies. I'd like to embed a digital display in the front of it just above the glass doors that will tell me the temperature and (hopefully) humidity levels inside. I've been told the best option involves a digital probe or two that will measure the temps on the hot and cool sides.

I've been having trouble finding a thermometer-hygrometer combo with good reviews, though, and I'm not sure how to set up any kind of thermostat, or which brand to buy. I'd love some recommendations so I can figure out what to do next.

Basically, I'm going to cut a hole in the wood that's the size of the digital display to make it visible from the outside.

I don't bother with a hygrometer in my tank. If it doesn't feel humid to me in the house it's been fine for a dragon. I like the idea of mounting the display on the front of the tank though. It's nice to be able to check the temp gradients at a glance. I do the same thing with my Herpstat. (It's not embedded, it just has a display that sits under the tank). Any probe thermometer should work as long as the lead on the probe is long enough to go where you want and you like how the display looks. You might pay more for things like light up display or longer leads. Do you think a thermostat is the way to go, or would a digital thermometer suffice?

I live in Houston so I have to closely watch the humidity at all times. The humidity fluctuates wildly at times and I have measured anywhere from 30% to 70% in my home. I have several of these mounted in the tank:

Just be aware that the relative humidity is measured at the unit and not the probe so you have to mount the unit inside the enclosure to get an accurate reading.

I consider thermostats a nice luxury to use if you have the money available for them. They can automatically dim the basking light and turn on/off a CHE or heat projector at night to keep the temps in good shape without much fuss. They aren't necessary though and I consider things like high quality UVB lighting to be higher up on the list of necessities when budgeting.
