The Terrible Trio - Herk-A-Birthday!!

Since I am finding it more and more difficult to keep updating 4-5 threads, I have decided to start a new one that captures the antics and pics of ALL of my dragons...Nero, Dude, Sweetie-Boo, Calliope and Hercules.

From now on I will be updating this thread... and every day is an adventure here in Beardie-Land

I hope that everyone will continue to follow the lives of my babies.

Waves from the Beardie Bunch

Robin

EDIT ** For whatever reason Photobucket is not transfering my pictures :banghead: (and I have some good ones, too :angry5: ) I will try again in the morning.

You never know with Tom... he might be able to cut him a "beard-deal". Besides, one baby gone means an extra inch of living space for Tom (until the next clutch hatches  )

Hey Robin,

Yeah now that vacation is over with and I'm back into the swing of things I should be around more often on the forums... I'm glad you like Hercules, he was one of the bigger babies with a bunch of color, that's why I sent him to you! Believe me he will be a full body orange/red and look like a nice 1/2 combination of Pumpkin and Red!

And I forgot to tell you that Calliope is 66% Het Trans! I found this out through the breeding of Yellow Guy to Sunshine and I produced 4 super trans babies! So since Yellow Guy is her father, and he carried the genes for Trans Calliope carries those genes too!

I figured you would like to know since you are talking about breeding next year!

Take care, and keep the pictures coming!

WOW!! Thanks for the info, Anthony!

We plan on breeding her with Nero, whose morph is Pure Citrus/Citrus x Hypo Orange Glow/100% Leucistic (his father, Louie, is from DragonWhisperz).

What do you think???

That breeding will be produce some nice yellows with orange accents, but as far as I've seen so far either parent from Calliope is het hypo. So you will have some very pretty double hets... At that point the offspring will be 33% het trans and 100%-66% het hypo depending on if Nero is clear nailed or not...

But either way they should produce beautiful offspring!

OMG! You pulled a switcheroo and condensed all your threads to one!
I have not been very observant lately  Too much crap going on in my life right now...blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!

Glad to hear all the babies are doing well. Calli's getting big and that little Herky is a doll.

So... how does the new house suit you and hubby? Are you enjoying the shorter commutes to work?

BTW......" The Beardie Bunch "...... I love it! :D

Hi Dawn!

Don't you blah, blah, blah me. I completely understand. I mean, it must be driving you bonkers waiting for Bliggy to finally come home  He is soooooo cute by the way. I think for the moment he has surpassed Z-n-W in popularity. But only because Barabra is so busy with the Fresno Baby-Fest going on up there

Yes, the babies are getting big. Both piggies which is OK by me.

The new place is fabulous. We have not had any issues with trying to keep the vivs cool or warm and the humidity is much lower since we moved inland.

And 21 miles one way vs. 35. I'll take it

Well, now that you found me, don't be a stranger (well no stranger than normal  )

So now I'm back to being concerned about Dude.

A while back he had me concerned because he wasn't pooping. Well he finally did and since that time, he is consistently pooping only once a week. The past couple of weeks, his urates have been hard and yellow, so I did a search (YES I KNOW HOW TO USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION :blob5: ) and it based on what I found, he is possibly getting to much calcium :dontknow: We only feed him every other day due to his age and I only sprinkle a pinch of calcium on his worms (newly shed supers). He is also getting baths daily so I wouldn't think he is dehydrated.

I have PM'd Tracie to see what her thoughts are. I am guessing that he may be older that I was told and maybe I need to change his routine to maybe accomodate for an even older dragon.

I hope it's something simple. I don't want anything to be wrong with my baby Dude :( (I think he likes it when I call him that, even though he is definitely NOT a baby  )

Thanks Sandy! He does love his applesauce... maybe I'll give him some tonight as a treat with his wormies. I know it probably seems trivial..

Not worry... HA... that's like not breathing

Aw, hope to hear good news about Dude soon! How are your beardies set up? As in, are they all in the same room, all in separate rooms, know what I mean?

The Dude's viv is in what is supposed to be our dining room. Our kitchen is very large and we spend a lot of time in it, so therefore when we are in there we can talk to him and he can see us.

The stackable vivs are in the living room. One is on a wall perpendicular to our couch. This would be the babies' vivs.. Calliope in the top viv, Herky in the bottom viv. The other one is on a larger wall that sits next to our TV... Nero is in the top viv and Sweetie-Boo is in the bottom. They are positioned so that the dragons are not in view of one another EXCEPT for a tiny 6-7 inch corner of Calliope's viv. If she sits in that spot then Nero can see her. LET THE DISPLAY BEGIN!!! I have been calling her 'hooch' lately because she purposely goes over to that corner. If I move her, she goes right back

It's almost like she's saying to Nero... "Can't Touch This"

Hi Robin sorry to hear that your Baby Dude is worrying you.

Every other day? So is it 3 days a week or 4? Remember many suggest 3 days a week for adults...which with all my adults but Ms. Piggy that works fine. An of couse with gravid females they are on calcium 5 days a week during egg laying times. I had to cut Ms. Piggy back to 2 days aweek.

When I first got Ms. Piggy she had very hard and yellow urates...she had high calcium levels and was dehydrated a bit too. Plus she's est. about 6 maybe 7 years old.

Let us know what Tracie has to say about it if she answers you in a PM rather than the thread. I'm interested in hearing what she has to say about it.

That's so funny! She's flirting

Yes and I'm interested in hearing Tracie's response as well, as my beardies are 1 year old... when do we go down to 3 or 4 days a week for adults?????? should I be feeding live feeders less often to Twitch, or just not dusting with calcium? Hermes is still growing so quick so I'm positive he still needs calcium but Twitchie seems to have reached a plateau :study: still learning...

Thanks Barbara.

We feed him every other day, so I guess it would work out to 3 days one week and 4 the next. think what bothered me the most was that it was rock hard. And I know that it hadn't been too long when he passed it, because the rest of it was still messy and not dried up. At first I thought that maybe he did it in the morning and since it was on his basking side, the heat might have had something to do with it.

I'm almost afraid that he might be older than I thought. Because if that's the case, then all I can think about is not knowing how many years I have left with him :(

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
