It's a stupid question - but I still want to ask it.

I have seen MANY times on this forum, people will post something they think is SUPER cute, and other members will tell them it isn't normal at all - and some instances require a vet visit - and that's the only way to learn sometimes :)

So Tiki really loves a bath. She'll actually push herself up as tall as she can be on her front arms, nose dive, and swim underwater for a second or two.

That ok behaviour?

Thanks!

If the dragon doesn't show any signs of distress it is fine. Some dragons are great swimmers were most just don't like the water or just sit there. I have seen dragons swim in videos it is very cute the way they wiggle and move around. I however also believe there are risks involved. In other words never just assume your dragon will swim, none of the 5 dragons I have owned have ever swam in this aspect. Des doesn't mind baths but, he will not submerge himself and the others just plain hate me when I place them in a bath.

She is NEVER left alone in a bath - ever :)

She just swims underwater for a brief one or two seconds. Seems very happy, not distressed or puffing at all - very strong, bright eyed and alert. She looks like a little mini alligator when she goes under.

I would imagine she's aware she can't breathe underwater, and never shows distress when coming up. Just kind of curious if other dragons did this - thanks!

I'm thinking you left the Discovery channel on one day and Tiki watched a show about alligators ... now she wants to BE an alligator ... it's just a theory

Crap.

You're somewhat correct... however... it was the SyFy Channel: Mega Shark versus DinoCroc.

I'm screwed.

I thought I had to watch carefully BEFORE - however now, it's a new story. Just great - I'm gonna be on the news if she ever gets out. No more SyFy channel for her.

Still - It's nice to know some dragons LOVE to swim. Sorry some don't :?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
