This past Saturday I saw the saddest thing ever.
Mom and I went to a small local pet store to purchase crix for Draco. While the girl was getting them, we walked around looking at the animals. Well I've been there before and knew where the beardies are normally located.
They had about 8 or 9 babies in the cage (last time they just had one adult). Looking in we noticed 3 smaller ones in the front corner of the viv looking rather pathetic.
Mom asked me if the one little guy looked dead. I really couldn't tell, he was kinda under the paper towels. When the girl came back with the crix I asked her about the baby. Her response was that they had been fighting and they didn't know why  Duh, you've got too many babies in a small tank.
I finally got to really see the baby and realized that it was really contorted and asked her again to check on the baby. She opened the viv and pulled the baby out saying "Oh how sad he did pass" she then took him to the back (I suppose to dispose of him ).
When she came back she checked on the other baby that was right there and said that he was Ok But I doubt he made it thru the night. I felt so bad for the poor little things.
I've only been in there a few times, but after this I don't know if I'll be back. I expect to see this at the "big" petstores, not one that is a brand new mom and pop shop.
Bri
