The Rise Of RaJa....PIC HEAVY:)3/16/13 updated *

I Went to Petsmart on October 6th,My Daughter seen this little guy and wanted him, So we brought him home .He was so tiny that he was about the size of my thumb, he liked being held and always wanted to snuggle.His Favorite place was laying flat on my thumb with his nose in the crook between my thumb and finger where he would fall asleep. I had not ever had a bearded dragon before but had been on this site learning about them before going to look.I have to say I never expected to Fall so utterly and completely in love with the tiny little thing but day by day he (Who I at first called a she) stole my heart. I worried about everything because he was so small,underfed, wouldn't touch any veggies and only ate very few crickets. Woke up every morning for the first week almost running to his viv to make sure he was still alive. Which he of course was, Ended up finding out that he was in fact just a few weeks old and shouldn't have been sold at such a young age. We worked on eating crickets... he ate more and more each day, Turning into the great Cricket hunter,with an insatiable appitite, tasted pheonix worms for the first time and Absolutely LOVED them... I coated them in green bean baby food, which I then also coated his greens with after the first week... now he is eating his veggies and is a little over two and a half months old and growing visably by the day... Its amazing just how much I have come to love this little guy, he brings a smile to my face daily and is always willing to cuddle... and while I know I probably shouldn't allow it but he likes walking up my chest until I look down at him and he presses his little head or mouth against my lips... he loves kisses!

This is Raja the day I brought him home... so Tiny.. and as he grew.. and Today.. I look forward to every New day and every growth spurt he has He has already come So far!

Was anxiously awaiting RaJa's wake up time, He Normally does NOT take kindly to being woken up before 10:30am, If you do he will give you the Stink Eye like no other and almost Pout for a while afterwards. He looked soooo Cute sleeping this morning, I love to just watch him doesnt matter if he's sleeping, running from end to end of his viv or jumping up onto his basking spot at a dead run he just amuses me... his lights came on this morning and he didnt think it should be time yet and wasn't very happy about it either lol

He is such a sleepy Head... He decided he wasn't having it, and was going to sleep in! Such a lazy Beardie You are RaJa!

About a half hour later he woke up, came over to the side of the viv I was sitting on and scratched until I picked him up and gave him beardie love and kisses.Then... it was breakfast time... Greens and 35 crickets... Nom Nom

Hi! Your experience is similar to ours. We, too adopted our beardie from Petsmart - same scenario about how young he was when we adopted him. And they are about the same age, too Fantastic idea about the baby food and how to get him to eat them I'll have to give that a try. Totally relate to how he stole your heart! Same thing happened here with our beardie! So enjoyed your story

RaJa and I had a fun night at bath time tonight, he Sailed the Crystal clear waters of the great Beardie sea in his trusty ship the Bearded lady....

And then after his journey flopped into his hammock uncaring that he knocked some of it lose... It's a rough job being a pampered beardie pirate But someones got to do it..

So Christmas went well, and Santa came for our little RaJa and his brother and sisters, they were all pretty happy and ate well.. its been a bit since I last posted a picture and he has really hit a growth spurt... had to believe just a few months ago he was only 4 1/2 inches ,He is now aprox 4 months old, 12 inches and 120 grams... thats my big boy and he lovesssss his greens now too!

Does he sound like he is about the right size? too small?too heavy? Can you overfeed these things? i just want to make sure im doing everything right

The Bond this Little guy and I share grows more and more everyday, It amazing how they just sneak right in and steal your heart.He got his nails cut today after his bath and sure didn't seem to fond of it.. Even bearded at me a little, but when I was finished he went back to being all sweet and snuggly again


Does anyone Even look at this anymore? lol just wondering, cuz I figured It would get a few more comments
