The "my beardie is smarter than I am" thread

Thought this would be fun. Don't think there's anything like this already here. Seems like it could be amusing to share ways we have been outsmarted and thwarted by very small, very spoiled dragons.

For instance -

Wave's newest playtime trick - when she doesn't want it to end, and suspects it is likely going to (based on my body language? I don't know how she knows), she now will crawl right to the middle of my back, where it is all but impossible to reach her. No matter how I twist and grab, she can't be gotten, or can squirm away. And there she stays, until I finally give up and just let her hang out until she is ready to go back home.

So - how are your beardies smarter than you are? :)

Ha that's cute! I'm to terrified to take my hands off hunter he had managed to get away and run towards the things I could never get him out off like the 200 lb entertainment center he could just barley get under if he wanted! My biggest fear is him running off :(

If we can get Elliot out of my pc that he ran inside of last night then you can get him out of the entertainment center. =)

(The pc wasn't turned on since it's one that has just been replaced by a laptop.)

My first and oldest(only 10.5 months old) beardie Sag knows that I put his least favorite fruits and veggies on top of his favorite. I will bury his greens under the squash and apples and he will dig every thing out all over his viv and then eat his greens and leave me a big mess to clean up!! Little bugger! :banghead:

When we are feeding greens to our girls and they don't want them, they close their mouths before we get to them with the greens. Sometimes all it takes is hearing the daily green container opening for them to shut their mouths, or "gaping" or something like that. Our girls are very smart.

That picture made me LOL!!! He's like "hey maa! I'm being mischievous!"

My 7/8 week old beardie Sebastian would let me carry him out of his viv without a fuss, but as soon as I pick him up out of the cage he leaps off my hand into unknown territory, that being the ground, my bed, the nearest table, etc. One time he even leaped to my little brother and climbed onto his arm! :blob5:
He really likes to get away.

The other night we ordered pizza and i walked through the kitchen with Bindi and she thought itd be fun to hop off my shoulder and play in the pizza. She had to take a bath so we could get cheese, garlic and pizza sauce off of her. Lol we had to throw the pizza out.

Did you tell her Beardies are not allowed to eat pizza? That it can be hazardous to their health? Because if you did i do not think the message go through!! LOL What did you end up with for supper since she took care of your supper? Let me guess Collard greens and Carrots?

Bindis in love with the wall, so she pretends she wants to see my mom, snuggles with her for ten seconds, then charges for it. She wont try it when im in the room though, and definitley not with me.

I used to have a mesh viv for Nemesis, and when I went to put her back in (through the top), she'd hold out her front legs and hold onto the top of the mesh, just long enough to flip around and scurry back up my arm

Yoshi and my cat aren't friends. LOL So when I have him out, he'll hiss at her and look at me like, "Make her stop, Mom!" But when he's in his viv, he'll stare her down cuz he knows she can't get to him. It's so funny cuz he just looks at her and like, mocks her attack chatter. LOL

When i get James out, i guess he enjoys it. But when the time comes to put him back in, he'll always wrap his small tail around my hand cause he knows im afraid i'll hurt him if i grab him and really put him back in his cage xD so the only thing i do is trying to "slide" him back in. but when he wraps his tail around he'll just hang there for 2 seconds and when i put my hand back straight he'll just run back to my arm and tries to get on my shoulder.. x3 I know it's my own fault but still xD

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
