I posted about my new beardie and how he doesn't seem just right. I am making this thread for help with his condition (whatever it may be) and how we are going to try and help him recover. I am hoping for success at this, and also hoping for feedback/advice. I took a few pics of him today, maybe they will help a little.

Here is a pic of me trying to get him to eat, as you can see he is just laying on his arms.

and here he is in isolation, again just laying there.

Poor little guy, how long has he been this way ? Did it come on suddenly, or gradual ? Can you list your bulb types, wattage + brand name ? Size of tank + temperature ? Has he pood lately ? How do you hydrate him ? Supplement with calcium ? Any chance that he ate a large cricket + is impacted ? One of the crix in the corner look a bit large, not immensely, but something much bigger than that may have caused impaction. There's a few things to consider.

I just got him from someone yesterday. He has been like since since about five minutes after i got him. I have only gotten him to eat a couple wax worms (no i don't feed them as a staple) . Right now he is in a 10 gallon while i figure out what's going on. He has a 125 watt solarglo mvb.

Poor guy! He's beautiful!

Just wanted to send my thoughts your way, I'll be praying for his recovery. He's in good hands and hopefully it's nothing serious! Good luck to you and the little guy.

Have you gotten any critical care or jump start for him just to make sure he gets his nutrients from not eating?

Not yet, i have only had him about a day. Thank you, much appreciated.

How close is the 125 watt Solarglo ? He may be roasting in there. Even a 60 watt bulb would heat it up . Try using a housebulb for now, and see if he'll drink from a dropper. Sometimes when they are that limp, they will take a while before they start lapping the water. Also, if you post in the E.R., you'll get more responses.

I have gotten him to drink water, not a lot, but enough. I have also given him two baths. The solar glo is far enough away to not roast him, i have a thermometer and have been checking the levels periodically .

Just wanted to post and say I hope he recovers on whatever ails him. I read you 'Very Disappointed' thread last night and my heart just sank. It was like night and day images from you 'Pickin this little boy up tomorrow' thread. I'm hoping it's something recoverable, or at the very least, from your other thread, a mild case of MBD. Still can't shack the night and day differences in the images. At the very least he found a caring home that will help him through it, and love you in return for many years.

I'm sorry. I know the excitement of getting a new beardie, and I'd be crushed if that was his condition. The first thing I would do is make sure you have a good UVB light with no screen in between, get him some critical care, liquid calcium and some probiotics. You'd be surprised what a little calcium and probiotics will do. I know you just got him, but is a vet trip possible? It may be necessary.

Where did you get him from?

I got him from a woman who clearly didn't care about him. I got him some critical care today and he seems to be doing a little better, i also have him under a solar glo mvb.

I know, i was so excited to get this beautiful healthy looking beardie, and my heart broke when i realized something was wrong with him. We are currently doing what we can, and i just hope he makes it. He is a beautiful lizard and he deserves to live, i just hate how someone could notice somethings wrong, pawn him off on someone else, and completely lie about ever knowing something was wrong. Thank you for the well wishes, we are gonna need them.

Here's a pic i took a few minutes ago, as you can see it's different from the pics today. He is actually holing himself up basking, and he walked from where i set him down to there. So i feel a bit better.

Update: Ok so i am very confused, yesterday evening half his tail turned completely black, and it wasn't gradual, it was almost immediate, and he looked as if he was dying. Not breathing, and just laying limp with his eyes closed. I thought he was dead several times, and i would touch him and he would flare his beard a couple times. I figured he had severe tail rot or something and didn't think he would make it through the night.

I woke up this morning and there he is, just laying there... with poop... everywhere. Like he hadn't pooped in a loooong time. Oh and his tail is back to normal. What the heck? Why would his tail turn black, then back to normal the next day? I don't get it.

Anyway, i ordered him some amoxocillin and have been feeding him the reptaaid, so hopefully this is a sign that he may get better.

Do you still have the MVB on him in a 10 gallon? I have heard repeated, over and over, on these forums that a MVB should not be used in a tank that is less than 20 gallons. I've seen people giving advice to others on this forum that a 10 gallon tank is way to small for a MVB.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
