The Head Shed...

My dear Tiks is shedding her head! This (to me) seems to be one of the more annoying parts to shed.

This morning she puffed up like a madwoman over and over. I've read elsewhere this simply helps to loosen the skin to ease the shed - correct?

But she also puffed her whole body in the process - is that ok? All temperatures and lighting are very much so in the correct and accepted parameters. She also attached her crickets (and salad) this morning very much like the raptor in Jurassic Park.

Are there any tips to help a dragon shed their little head? She seems rather annoyed at this - much more so than the back or belly.

nothing really, just baths and misting. My Argos's head is starting to turn gray again for the second time since I've had him. He just got finished shedding his legs and almost done with his tail.

She gets a bath in the morning after breakfast and playtime. Usually around 10:30 or so.

Would it be advantageous to up her bathtimes to two per day during shedding?

Have something rough textured that she can rub her head against to help remove shed.

She's been doing that - and it's pretty cute too. The rock will help the shed, but it's not so rough that she could hurt a new scale.

You can trey the Shed Ease ZooMed stuff...you spray it on and rub it in. Or we've been using gauze pads soaked with saline solution for about 5 min 3-4 times a day for one of ours with a retained shed.

Mine is also shedding his head today ...thought he had something coming out of his nostril until i looked closer and seen he was shedding along his mouth and nose etc ....
