I did something extremely stupid on the weekend and paid the price for it big-time! Malys has been so hyper lately i can barely keep a hold of her...she's never been this active (2.5yrs). Everytime I take her outside she always finds insects and she almost had a june bug on the weekend. I've been trying to just keep her on me outside but she fights me.
Anyways, had her on the deck on the weekend and of course she found a huge ant and ate it. I've been so frustrated trying to keep her from eating random insects but she always finds them and runs for them. I picked her up right away and she kept her mouth open, i could see the bug sitting on her tongue and in the split second i had to think about it my finger was in there trying to fish out the insect.
So, i was on here using the search to find threads on bites and most of them say that dragon bites don't hurt. I just want to insert my 2cents here and say that it was the worst pain i've felt in a long time! She made it thru my fingernail and quite deep into the other side of my finger. No stitches, it stopped bleeding fairly quickly. Although, i suppose most bites from dragons are accidental and probably are only nips. I can't even really call this a dragon bite, as she didn't really bite me ...from her perspective it was a human finger invasion of the mouth LOL! And i was more worried about her after it happened, i had to shake her off my finger to get her to let go but she seems fine.
