The dragon that licks EVERYTHING. plus growth update

I know its a common thing, but I love it so much. I take him out and he just wants to explore everything!

Danny is my first BD (Still too small to determine the sex) I got him three weeks ago and from his size, we're guessing he was two months at the time. He measured at 5 inches and is now reaching 8! He's growing so fast and its pretty incredible.

This is him right after we brought him home. Those crickets were gone in a matter of minutes.

Two days after we got him. He likes to crawl all over me (He also likes to move his bowels on my too)
He adjusted really nicely to his new home, it took like a day instead of weeks. He eats his vegetables (only if I give them too him by hand, hopefully he'll grow out of that) and he is also drinking from his water bowl. I was surprised to see him do that cause from what i've read, they don't like to do that.
I'll keep this updated as he grows

My little guys thinks his back shed is a fly or something cause when he say me take it out the tank he flipped and tried his hardest to get it back and eat it ! so maybe it is a normal thing some of them do ?!?

They both look very happy but I'm sure they cant wait to have their own room, like teenagers right ?

They try everything to pull their sheds off. It's not unheard of for them to eat shed skin either but I don't recommend it. If they have a big shed piece that is sticking out, you can cut it down with some scissors. Just be careful not to pull it - just cut off the excess shed so it isn't flopping around everywhere.

Dave doesn't like baths all that much. he wouldn't need them if he'd stop sitting in his waste before I can clean it.

Danny is just like "meh" and swims around.

I tried to catch Dave with his mouth open. I was too slow. But wow, look at him. He's looking so healthy and happy. And his toes of straightened out!

This was him when we first got him. So skinny.

Danny likes to sit on me while I play pokemon.

Sadly, Danny didn't make it. He got too sick and i had to leave the state for my great grandmother who is also very sick. I couldn't bring him with me and I left him in the care of my awesome roommate who did as much as he could to help Danny recover. I did take him to a vet before we left because he was having some problems before this, all the said was that Danny was dehydrated and all we had to do was hydrate him. We were trying so hard to help him. He looked like he was getting better but there probably was something else going on too.
We had his viv set up correctly so I don't know what happened. My roommate said he was full of energy an hour before this happened and then he just went stiff and stopped breathing. I'm really sad that I can't be there, but my roommate was doing an awesome job.
Dave on the other hand is just thriving, a massive 80+ grams and about 11 inches long. We got him his own tank awhile ago and just blew up in size

I posted on your ER thread. I am very sorry to hear that Danny didn't make it. Also sorry to hear about your sick grandmother.

You're right, it sounds like something was really wrong with Danny, even besides being dehydrated. Had the vet checked him for parasites? If not & since they were housed together for a while, it would be a good idea to have Dave checked as parasites can cause all sorts of symptoms.

I noticed that you posted this on one of your other threads:

I dust his crickets in Repti-calcium from Zoo Med and it has d3. I try to get him to eat greens more than crickets, but he does go through about 50-75 crickets a week.

I wanted to mention that babies need a LOT of protein and really don't show much interest in greens/veggies until several months old, maybe even a yr old. Babies should be fed all the crickets they can eat 2 to 3 times a day in a 10 to 15 minute time frame each time. So, 7 to 12 crickets a day is nowhere near enough for a growing beardie. Also, please make sure that you are dusting with calcium 5 days a wk but only 1 feeding a day and with vitamins the other 2 days a wk but only 1 feeding a day.

To make sure everything is perfect for Dave, could you fill us in on the type of thermometer you're using, digital strip, round gauge (dial) temperature gun or digital with a long wire & probe end? Also, is the Repti-Sun 10.0 a compact or strip fluorescent tube?
