you're right!! jumper turned 1 in december.and thanks!! can you believe that Jumper was sold as a red??? he has no red in him!! it was a good bath time for him...we have some problems with him in the tub. he can be a good boy when he wants to, just don't touch his tail! now, link will be a year old in may...i think. he's little!! i don't know why. we have him in a 50gallon tank. he gets veggies and crickets both with calcium. 100watt bulb and the temps are where they should be. nothing is out of the ordinary. i'll remeasure him to be sure....but i'm pretty sure we measured him at 10in.

Jumper had some red/orange as a baby I assume and probably the parents have some red. There are a few breeders who touch up their sale pics and stretch the truth about the description. Some babies lose that red as they age, it can fade by adulthood. Regardless, he's still gorgeous.

Link may just be smaller due to his genetic background. If the parents were a little on the small side that could explain it. It's a trait that has passed on to him. I don't think it has to do with the viv size or your husbandry as all sounds good, more likely his bloodline. Post a pic of him, we'd love to see him!

I have a few questions though. Can't age be determined in males by when the pores near the vent start to become more observable? Or when the spikes around the head start to develop more? Or how about the first time they black beard?

Here again, none of those things are a real accurate judge of age. Some males learn to black beard earlier than others. My first male started the blackbearding, headbobbing at about 7 months, Assassin learned how to do this a few weeks ago, around 5 months. The pores on his inner thighs are already quite large, and again, my first males become prominant around 7 to 8 months. The spikes become longer, fuller and each spike thicker as they approach adult hood(1 year to 18months). Assassin already has some pretty large spikes, but it's still filling in. All of these things combined on an adult are more easily discernable, but how early each of these things happens really depends on the dragon itself.

Shoot! I thought I really had something there because both my dragons did their first black beard around the five month mark.
Then again...I'll never know how old Dante truly is so all I have to go by is Gaz.

He almost looks like my Link and we got him from Petco too. I'm going to guess 5 months tops, but then again our Link is no more than 13in and he'll be a year in May. I've learned that buying from a pet store isn't the greatest cause: 1 they never know the age, 2 cause the conditions they live in can be horrible and 3 just not always trust worthy. I think that Link is a little stunted cause of whatever. Not us though. We plan on getting him a bigger tank even though he's in a good size tank and his temps are fine. Hope you enjoy your little one!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
