Thanksgiving With My Beardie

Hi y'all, happy Thanksgiving!

I need some advice for traveling with a bearded dragon. My bearded dragon, Sherbert, doesn't have any sitters at the moment so we need to take him with us. He's a 2/3 month old dragon that we got a month ago. I have a plan in mind but I want to confirm that it's not gonna kill him.

I will be bringing him in a temporary 10 gallon tank with his heat lamp for digesting food. I can't bring his uvb bulb because it is too long to bring. I will be bringing him his roaches and salad to eat. We will only be going away for a few hours, but I can't leave him at home. I plan on letting him feel some natural sunlight while we're there.

Will this do good for my beardie, or will it harm him more than just leaving him home?

It might hurt him more than if you left him at home. How long will you be gone for?

You can just leave him a large salad, maybe, if you'll only be gone for two days. (I know babies don't usually eat salad, but at least he'll have the option of a salad instead of starving.) Alternatively, you could leave out a large plate of bugs that can't crawl out of their bowl--like dubias, black soldier fly larvae, or silkworms.

If you'll be gone longer than that, and you're dead-set on bringing him with you, I suggest getting a PowerSun or MegaRay MVB in order to supply both his heat and his UVB. I wouldn't normally be worried if it was a healthy adult dragon, but babies sincerely need their UVB for all their calcium-absorbing as they grow.

Hi, we're only here for a few hours. He's doing just fine at our new place, only a little stressed at the start but nows he's fine. He also ate all his roaches that we packed also took him on a walk that he enjoyed. (90 degrees here). thank you for your concern though!
