Territorial Differences

My two Beardies are both around a year old and both male. We had to separate them because the bigger of the two started being very aggressive and territorial towards the other one. These are the first lizards I have ever had so most of this stuff is new to me.

The smaller one is in a 36" x 18" x 24 65 gallon Aquarium we converted into a reptile habitat. The bigger one is in a 36" x 18 x 18 Terrarium. Both have their heating and uvb bulbs

The tanks are positioned as such:
The longer terrarium is located on the side next to my bed
The shorter one is located at the front of my bed

They can see each other and regularly get into head bobbing matches and sometimes one will jump at the glass or hit their heads into the glass trying to run at the other dragon.

I want to make sure my babies are safe so I was wondering if theres something I could do to fix this? I was thinking about taping a non transparent background to the shorter tank to block their view because moving the tanks really isn't an option. Will isolating them like that have any negative effects or am I just being overly paranoid?

Isolating them is a good idea. Males can be VERY aggressive toward eachother and cause serious injury. They love humans for some strange reason, but tend to not like eachother very much. It sounds like each of them now has adequate space. I agree with what you suggested about covering the glass between them. You could print out some nice background photos (I printed out pictures of the outback and Uluru) to help decorate the tank at the same time preventing them from seeing eachother. Once they're isolated they should be able to thrive in their individual environments.

I got a terrarium background from the petstore, it has an aquarium print on the back as well. He seemed interested and a little confused at what I was doing. It was very funny to watch him try and lick through the glass to get the background!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
