I reached my hand into my beardies cage to pick her up and she showed her teeth and puffed her beard at me.
This is the first time she's ever done that to me. She sometimes will puff her beard a little and then calm down.

An hour later, her pigment got really dark. I figured it was because she was cold because I had the window open.
I closed the window about an hour ago and she's still dark.

Thoughts: She's still cold or her UVB has gone bad or maybe I'm just over paranoid. ;~;

If you reach in from above, it's possible that you startled her. Try to reach in away from her and approach from an angle. I wouldn't worry too much, though, unless she continues to do it regularly. Maybe put in a shirt you've worn to remind her that your smell = friend :)

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to wait until I put her in her new cage. That way she will have more room.

And I gave her a bath and she returned to normal color. Maybe she was just trying to get extra uvbs or maybe she was cold.

It is completely possible. I wouldn't fret about it too much. Any day that Max poops in his viv, I come home to him sitting as far away as possible and covered in stress marks. Once I clean it and hold him for a few minutes, he is right as rain.

Lol captive beardies are so spoiled.
So much that seeing their own poop stresses them out. :p

To be fair, in the wild they wouldn't have to stay within a couple feet of their poop for hours on end. My roommate refuses to clean it >.<

That is very true.

Try paying them. :p $1 every time they clean out the poo.
I'm using paper towels in my temp cage while we build the new one. It makes clean up so easy! It's like changing a diaper.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
