Temps dropping...

I posted this in Beardie ER, but really didn't get much response, and wanted to reach out on this forum...

My furnace has been out for the past 4 days. I usually keep my house at 70-75*F, which keeps Little Foot at a steady 72. Well, it's starting to get a heck of a lot colder where I live, and I've noticed his temps keep dropping. I got home today, and his thermometer said 69*F. I was told to get a heating pad and put it under where he usually lays, but I don't want to burn him, from laying there for such an extended period of time.. I don't have the money for a ceramic heat lamp, or that would already be in there. We have a little space heater, but we have vaulted ceilings, and decent sized living room/dining room set up that the little space heater we have doesn't really keep him that warm.. Any suggestions will help!

Also.. Side question.. We ran out of Dubai roaches, until I get paid on Thursday. I have meal worms, and have been giving him 4-5 of those, and I found a few roaches that are his size, and gave them to him. Is that enough? I also have wax worms, but have been told those should be used only for treats.. Any advice on that?

Thank you in advanced!

We got the furnance back up and running, not at 100% though. I'm going to see how his temps do tonight, and go from there. Thanks for your advice!

Don't you having a basking/ubv light in the tank? You could add a second source of heat to them. Even a regular house light would give off some heat. I also use a towel to cover up part of my screen top tank to raise the temp some when needed. I have two basking lights on dimmer switches so I can adjust the tank temps. One over the basking spot and another alittle ways away from it.

Sorry, I spoke too soon. I didn't realize you had more posts than I read seeing your topic was moved around. I have the heat set at 65 degrees F during the night at my house, and my guy does fine. He is in his own room which is just above the furnace. I keep the vent in there wide open, and it gets toasty at times, so it's great for him. I think 69 degrees is just fine for your little guy at night.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
