temps and lighting...ARGH!

Does anyone use the zoomed (yellow) temp gauge? It has a probe I placed on the basking spot. Using a 50w halogen flood light at 15" from basking spot. Getting 92 degrees (after about 30 minutes). Does anyone think this reading is right? WIl it take longer to get hotter?

I have the same one and its temps read the same as my older more expensive temp probe.
