KK thz all but i talked to the breeder and she sent us a flat bottomed basking bulb and the temps are around 106!YAY

Great! Can I ask if you are using a UVB Bulb aswell? If so, what brand and name?

That's good that you now have a basking temp of 106, what's the temp on the cool side? And did you check the temps this way?

place the probe end so that it is touching the basking surface right under the light, wait about 45 min for the temp to stop rising, then you will have the basking temp. If you buy a digital like the one in the picture, then you can get both readings at once by putting the thermometer part way over on the cool side when the probe end is laying on the basking area. After the 45 min timeframe, the "out" reading is for the basking temp and the "in" reading for the cool side. The cool side temp should be in the 75 to 85 degree range with 80 being ideal. Please let us know what the temps are after checking them that way.

It would be a good idea if you answer Fogles question about the UVB light since there are some that are dangerous and others that are absolutely useless.

Just curious, what's a flat bottomed basking bulb? Could you show us a picture of it?

Ok i did take the temps w a good thermometer and i have the Reptisun 10.0 for the little guy.idk how or y but the breeder said the flat bottom was better.The cool side stays in the 78-85 range im sure.



Mmmmmmk srry for some reason it wont let me post a pic....but i believe its called the Exo Terra Sun Glo Neodynium bulb (not sure tho)...
