The gun should be held only 2" away from the area you're checking. If you could retake the temps again, that would be helpful.

With those measurements of 36L x 10 x 16H, it's only a 25 gallon tank so it seems like your temperature gun isn't giving you good readings. Would be a good idea to drop down to a 75 watt household light bulb (not the compact type) and then recheck the temps.

I Researched Further Info & Found That The Type Of Gun I Was Using Had An Inner Protection Cap!
I Unscrewed The Gun And Took It Off!
I Rechecked My Temperature's And I Found That My Temperatures Were 125*F!
Scared The Living **** Out Of Me!
Instantly Used A Dimmer!
Temps Are Now At 103*F ( Basking ), 90*F ( Warm Side ), 80*F ( Cool Side )!
