I need two temp vivs for two adult dragons. I don't have the money to buy two new tanks. I used any possible money buying the beardies actually.

I bought a male and female in a 20gal tank, on calci-sand with fecal all over. They were getting UVB and calcium powder and veggies (spinach and carrots) and worms. There was a coil bulb, just not sure if it's UVB or just a house bulb for light, and a black bulb. The owner was nice, but just not well educated about them and didn't pursue a more thorough education. He had them for about a year. They don't have names, and I'm trying to avoid naming them because I know I'll then become attached and keep them! (I already have names, but I'm trying to resist!!!)

I have big boxes available since I'm in the process of moving. Would this be a suitable cage until an appropriate solution could be found? I would use paper towels for substrate like I do with my Saxon.

I can afford correct lighting, food, logs, basking areas for now.

I'm in class so I was unable to get them out of their tank immediately, and I plan to do so when I get home. (After a bath for both, in separate containers.)

I hope I posted in the correct area. I'm not sure if they are considered rescue beardies completely or not, so I posted here for at least about the vivs.

Thank you!

Cyn

Edit: I have check craiglist for an adequate size, but nothing is available. I've been looking for a bigger tank for Saxon for almost a week and nothing is really cheap. Vegasans like to mark up their prices.

Could you use large rubbermaid containers for now? (or whichever big plastic bins sold at many stores). I would guess large boxes would work too as long as you put something on the bottom that would prevent their poo from soaking in.

Good luck with the two newbies.

I put paper towels down in a huge box.

Tonight I'll pick up some plastic bins big enough for them, I can always find uses for them later. Poor things are scared though, I don't think they were ever handled.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
