So, I have no idea what's wrong with Taz. Maybe a little idea but...
He STILL refuses to eat much in the way of salad. He's over a year old... enough's enough! He NEEDS to eat his greens, but no. He just walks through them and decorates all corners of his cage with it.
Now, here recently, he refuses to bask. He's lethargic, goes and crawls in his cave, and won't come out. I take him out, offer him food... if it's alive, he eats it with enthusiasm. I set him on his basking spot... he stays there about two hours, then goes and crawls back in his cave. Gerrr I thought maybe it was time to change his UVB light, so I ordered a new one. Put it in - no change.
Ok, so maybe he has parasites. Will have to wait till my paycheck comes in to get a fecal done on him, since I have a grand total of $12 bucks to my name since I just had to get new tires. Joy to the frogs.
I have panacur still, but no idea on the shelf life of that stuff, nor do I know if he ACTUALLY has parasites, or what kind, and will panacure fix it. So, I refuse to give him that until I know.
So, I'm banging my head on walls, very frustrated. Sorry, I needed to vent.
How will a vet tell if his calcium levels are too low, thanks to him refusing to eat salad? How long is calcium powder good for? And can low calcium be the culprit here? Olive died thanks to her first owners not treating her right, and she had MBD and a ton of calcium related issues... I guess I'm just worried about a repeat with Taz. So, it's not the UVB, possibly worms possibly needing calcium... and that's where I run out of ideas.
No, he's not brumating. He did that at the end of last year, and it's hot as anything here this time of year. Pretty sure it's not brumation :S
Any suggestions...?
