Right I am intrigued to find out roughly how long Crooke would be if he hadn't been subjected to a tail nip as a baby.

He is approx 10 months old overall length is 13 inches......but....I have measured from snout to vent and he is 8 inches.....he is also a hefty 413grams :lol:

So I was wondering if there was a tail to body length ratio etc......or if people with similar length (snout to vent) and weight beardies could let me know the length of their beardies without tail nips..... Please :idea:

Leo isn't far off 10 month old and is roughly 15-16 inches, i would say without the tail nip your beardie would be 15-18". I think all Beardies tails lengths are different.

Chimaira. 18 months Nose to vent. 10 inches Nose and tail 20 inches Weight 740g
Zorina. 15 months Nose to vent. 7 Nose and tail 16 --- 185g
Kinno 12 months Nose to vent. 10 Nose and tai 24 --- 650g
Lexia 12 months Nose to vent. 8 Nose and tail 18 --- 340g
Roo 12 months Nose to vent. 8 1/2 Nose and tail 17 --- 468g
Bobble 8 months Nose to vent. 10 Nose and tail 20 --- 524g

So there definitely is no common ratio in nose to vent and tail length :|

So I don't think I will ever be able to get a difinitive answer as to who long or short my little baby would have been

but I love him just the way he is

Checkers ~ male ~ 22" long and 8.75" nose to vent
RD ~ female ~ 17" long and 8" nose to vent.
Miss Piggy ~ female ~ 20" long and 9.5" nose to vent.
Ms. Tiggs ~ female ~ 20.5" long and 9" nose to vent.
Itty Bitty ~ female ~ 18" long and 7.5" nose to vent.
PVT Blaze ~ male ~ 22" long and 8.75" nose to vent.
Bender ~ male ~ 17.5" long and 7" nose to vent.

How bad is the tail nip? it might only take a 1/2 inch to a inch looks like he has pretty much all of his tail.

He has only got a 5" tail ....... thats why I was trying to work out if there was a common length of body to length of tail ratio

But looking at what has been posted so far they are all unique :|

some seem to have longer tails than bodies and vice versa

You might just have a shortie Nothing wrong with that. Beardies are like us all diff sizes He looks to be healthy and fat

Thanks....He is the eldest of 5 lol ...... at the moment the heaviest but Puff who is 8 months old is 403grams and 17 and a half inches is catching him up

But Whizz who was from the same clutch as puff is 17inches and only weighs 298grams still podgy but daintier with smaller head.

so it proves they are all unique
