Tank ready??

Hello. I would love anyones advice on if my tank is ready for a bearded dragon. My tank is 20 inches tall, 3 feet long, I have a metal mesh screen on top with a 150 watt heat lamp and a 36 inch long T5 High output hood with a 10.0 bulb. The basking side is between 103 and 106 degrees, the cool side is between 72 and 77 degrees. I just want to make sure its sufficiant before I get a beardie. Please help. Thanks.

The only thing different in the picture is I replaced the coil UVB bulb with the reptisun 10.0 high output T5.

Hi there, yes your tank is ready + looks pretty good ! You have all the proper lighting which is critical and your basking spot is good. Only thing I'd recommend is for the cool end to have a small climbing structure as well, beardies like to have a variety of perches at different temps.

Thank you. The new update is the hot spot is 106 and the cool spot is 78 and holding firm. Are those temps ok?

Reflector hood hung UNDER the mesh lid. So the tube is no more than 12 inches from the basking spot.

Use the 2ND dome for a ceramic heat emitter , invest in a dimming thermostat with a probe on a long cable to control the heat output from the CHE, run it 24/7 espec in winter.
An offcut of 1/2 MDF or plywood to cover the top of the mesh (to hold heat in - espec during those cold winter nights and days. Only needs small vents in this.

A timer to automate the times the basking globe and UVB come on and go off.

A few digital thermometers (from Ebay) so you can dangle the probes to appropriate spots and see the temps there at a glance.
