Tank measurements

I don't know if any of you are like me but when somebody gives me measurements I have an impossible time figuring out if the tank is the size I want.
Somebody has emailed me and said he has a 55gal tank measuring: 4'x21"x12-1/2". Do you think this would be a good replacement for Rufus' 40 Breeder?

Your 40 actually has more of a "footprint" than the 55. It is only 12" wide, where as the 40 is 15-18" wide(?)
Stay with the 40, unless you want to build a custom viv, it isn't hard, or renovate an old stand alone stero, or even chest of drawers.

You're not the first person to suggest this to me. My husband is deployed to Iraq and I am NOT handy with tools/wood/construction so I don't think this is for me.

Is there a cabinet maker close to you ? If so, you can ask them the cost of building you one, instead of doing it yourself. Also, perhaps your fellow military wives can come up with something, like the old stereo or chest of drawers.

I'd stick with the 40g breeder for now. While the 55 is longer, its only 12 inches wide, which isn't ideal. A 75g would be better at 4 ft long x 18 inches wide (if you're looking for an upgrade). You want the 18 inches of width to ensure that your dragon will be able to turn around comfortably even as an adult.
