Alright there is the 40 gal. Just want to give some quick temps to you guys and make sure it’s all ok before I get him. The bridge on the hot side in the middle is 110 degrees, more toward the top it drops to about 95 and toward the bottom of the little bridge is 101. On that rock behind him it also varies but I got temps in the middle of the rock at 115 degrees. Then it drops temps all around it. For the cool side with his little hut it’s 85-87. Is that too hot? Should I somehow cook that side down? Just looking for some opinions if it’s suitable for him when I bring him home.

** side note that sunlight isn’t there anymore had to close the blinds

Your basking spot and warm side temperatures are looking good. You do need to find a way to lower the temps on the cool side, though — get it down to 75-80 so your beardie has a place to go when they're too warm.

I would also recommend adding a climbing branch or two to create more enrichment for your beardie.

I want to get a branch so he can climb up too but I feel if I get one it will be way to hot for him closer to that light. Maybe if I put the log or whatever in the middle of the tank , I’m just afraid of it being to high where it’s so dam hot by the light

As for the temp on the cool side maybe I’ll try a lower watt bulb and just lower the light

What wattage are you using now for your basking temp and what is your home's room temperature?

Looking at your enclosure's current layout, you should have enough room to safely add a climbing branch on the cool side. If part of it gets too hot, your beardie has the sense to avoid it.

My bulb is a 70 watt PAR38 halogen bulb right now. Yeah I’ll add a climbing branch on the cool side of it and see how he does with it

My room temp in the little den is 83. It’s winter here in NJ so maybe I’ll open the den window to cool it down which should I assume bring down the temp on the cool side.

Update here. Opened the window and the room went right down to 76 degrees. So with the window open that may help a bit to get that 5 degree difference

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
