Tank Decor Ideas

I have been trying to create a nice enclosure set up for my beardie, but it has been trial and error and more error than success. I have been wanting to purchase driftwood branches and "trees" from PetSmart (which are no less than $25!), so I haven't done that yet (as a last resort). I tried building different level platforms with wood from Home Depot and sticks, but it was not very sturdy as I am not a good handyman. I also tried a tutorial where a guy used styrofoam to make an accessory and then covered it with grout for a rock look and polyurathane to seal it, but I guess I did not do it successfully because it is peeling and I am afraid to wipe his poo off in fear of peeling more grout off (I'm also not very good creatively, so it's not very attractive, lol). Are there any good and inexpensive ways to create a good enclosure set up that is durable and easy to clean? Thanks!

Hi Krystal, some of us actually collect nice driftwood or half logs from outside , wipe any dirt off and pop it in a preheated 250 degree oven for 60 or 80 minutes. Just be sure the wood doesn't touch any of the heating elements of course.

You can also get very nice rocks outside, just wash with hot soapy water [ add vinegar if you want ] and rinse well. All free + you can find some really nice pieces. :)

I've seen some use a basket up side down. Cut out an arch way, he'll have a new hide. You can look in second hand stores, they have odd things. Really try for some of the shelf liner, it's so easy. Amazon, Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond. I'm thinking of replacing it soon, I've had it for over a year, even though it's washable. I do have a nice piece of slate in there. Mystic has a nice blanket cave to sleep in under his hammock, he's a spoiled dragon. They get used to certain things, so it's hard to rearrange the tank.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
