Taking dragon back to breeder

Well after a week of trying to get my dragon to eat I have talked with the breeder and they have agreed to swap out the dragon with another. Today my dragon was acting a little lethargic and not leaving its cool side all day so I'm getting worried for sure.

I will be getting the new baby. (2 months old) on Saturday and I want to know exactly what I should do when I get her home for the first few days. With the one I have now I brought him home and gave him a bath and then the next day tried to feed him. I gave him a bath every couple of days and handled only a few minutes a day. With the new girl should I even give baths or handle at all? Should I just try and feed her and keep my distance at first? I just don't want to mess this up again. Maybe the boy was just never going to work out and the girl will be different.

I would try to follow your lizards queue's. Some seem more receptive to early handling and others need a bit of time to adjust to their new environment. I think most recomend to let them adjust to their new surrounding for 3 days to a week before handling. Don't rearrange anything in her tank the first few weeks or so to reduce location stress. I did not bathe mine immediately maybe a week or two after I got her I bathed her. You can try interacting by slowly introducing your hand to your beardie in her tank, is she's not skittish you can try to stroke her chin, side of face behind the eyes close to the ears, down the length of her back. Just take it slow & let your beardie direct the amount of interaction the first couple weeks. If you can't resist the best time to cuddle is right before lights off or right at lights off when they are ready to shut down & sleep for the night. I would cover her in a soft cloth so to keep her eyes and head in the dark to mimic lights out. Good luck, don't let your first experience discourage you. Oh and when you pick them up support all their feet so they feel secure, if you pick them up by belly they will start flailing around. You want her to feel safe & secure.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
