Taking beardie camping

It's still a long way off, but I'd like to ask anyways. We are planning a week-long camping trip for the first week of June. Depending on the weather, I'd like to bring Teddy with me. It will be in an area that's known to be warm (Oakdale, CA, roughly).

Would Teddy like it there? Would he stress out? I'll take him on a few day trips to see how he does, so if he freaks out, he'll stay home with the cats that week. It sometimes gets cold at night, about 50*, so I'll be bringing all night hand warmers. Greens are easy, there's a great supermarket nearby, and I can bring supers for buggies. I can also bring his favorite basking rock and blankie so he has a little bit of home with him.

Have I forgotten anything?

If it would be too much stress, I'll just leave him at home, but I'd like to take him if he'd enjoy it.

We took our girls camping in September of 09. We camped in a tent. The only thing they didn't really like is the inability to get out of the heat (AZ is famous for that) in the heat of the day. Only you would know. Our girls are used to us taking them almost everywhere we go. They get this sad look when they notice that both of us are going out and leaving them home.

I can fix that, if it gets that hot. The basking rock is a huge slab, and ought to stay cool for a bit. I can also bury a frozen water bottle in a shady spot. Just ideas.

I'll have to make a playpen of sorts to keep Teddy safe from feet, dogs, hawks (very common here!), curious fingers and beardie panic attacks.

Oh! I'll have to bring a rake & broom to sweep away any errant rocks or pebbles Teddy might want to eat.

I will be bringing my beardie to Modesto in July for a few days when I visit my daughter (grand baby due then) . So any ideas I would like to know about to. Have fun in Oakdale , I used to live there.

I'm too much of a worry-wart to do it, but it sounds like you're pretty prepared! One thing I would add, is maybe some antiseptic and bandage material in case of an emergency injury. And locate a nearby-ish vet just in case. A week is a long time, anything could happen. (Told you I was a worry-wart.) For what it's worth, when I go camping I bring more first-aid supplies and medications for my dogs than for me.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
