i dont have my BD yet , but when i think about when hes old enough to go places for example: take a walk with him outside on my shoulder, to the park, i dunno just out when its warm and sunny.... but after much reading on everyones stories about how their BD got an overload of parasites, or something bad when they changed its schedule by something insignificant sounding, now im scare to even think of takeing him outside the house, LOL. now when i think of me takeing him for a ride on my shoulder to the park i might as well drive him off to the vet for meds! is it really that bad or are the stories just sound that way to me. is it ok to decide to take him somewhere on your shirt or shoulder without alot of worrys of coccidia overload, even though it wont be scheduled everyday thing, maybe a twice a week or once a week

I bring most of my dragons on "trips" during the day. The old one that really doesn't travel is Trogdor. But that's because he's an old man and has had major health issues before. (But even he gets a car ride to McDonalds once in a while.) My dragons go visit my work (which happens to be a pet store), they go on car rides, they go to walgreens... I take them whenever I can. I even bring them to the barn with me. They sit in the sun while I give my horse a bath. Its tons of fun for them to get out and see the world. My two babies went to a their first reptile show together a little while ago. They were almost 7 months old at the time. It was a little stressful and they certainly wiggled, but they were fine... Came home and ate worms. :)
I wouldn't worry too much about health issues due to taking your dragon with you somewhere. However, introduce them to traveling slowly. Don't just take him out and go on an all day shopping spree with him if he has never been out of the house. Start with a car trip, then move on to going to the pet store, etc. They become super comfortable - just be ready for lots of attention (and not all positive). I once made a store clerk jump 3 feet in the air and scream. I thought it was funny, but she certainly didn't.

Yes, you can take your beardie on vacation. Just remember he will still need a tank, lamps, etc. I believe one of our members travels the country in an RV. She brings her beardie every where she goes. He has a tank inside the RV that has everything he needs.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
