Ngarehu is 10 1/2 months old. I've been expecting him to shed soon, but this dark tail is a new thing. When I went to feed him this morning, he was cold (but he'd been sleeping in his hide, so I expected some of that) and his tail was unusually dark. Is it stuck shed? Or something worse?
Husbandry:
40 gallon breeder tank with paper towel substrate
Temps: high 90's, low 100's in the warm spot; upper 80's for the rest of the cage. Temps fall to 70 at night
UVB: tube reptisun 10.0, just replaced a month ago
Food: that's his salad right there. Collard greens, mustard greens, and endives today, dusted with his calcium. He gets basil every other day. His insects are superworms, dubia, hornworms, and silkworms. The dubia are dusted every other feeding, superworms are always dusted, and horns and silks don't get dusted at all (unless it is multi-vitamin day; those get dusted with his multi because he hates his multi) He also gets butterworms 2x a week.
He gets warm soaks every other day for 20 minutes.
His behavior is normal. He's still interested in coming out and spending time with me.
