Hello, my little girl is going through her shed and half way through it appeared she got some tail rot, toward the end of her tail had always been a darker colour and i had noticed a little black dot that never changed, then one day i came down and about 1 cm of the end of her tail was black and dead basically, (Ill try to get a macro picture of it) Its very thin and looks like its been burnt basically. I was going to treat it in betadine because alot of things seem to recommend that, Has anyone got any advice? Will the dead bit end up falling off after treatment or always be there? Thanks! The rest of her tail looks healthy (Not dark)

She has always also had a slight kink in the tail at the end, a little bit of it was always bent at about a 45 degree angle, if the shed killed it how do i treat it? Thanks

Hello,

Pictures would definitely help out. A lot of dragons tend to have tail issues, the tips do have a
difficult time shedding off sometimes. Does the area seem to be infected, or has it just dried up
& starting to fall off?
You can use a diluted betadine solution on it to clean it then some raw, unpasteurized honey or
antibiotic ointment to put on the area in case it is raw or looking infected.
I am glad that the rest of the tail looks healthy thankfully. Is she eating normally?

Let us know how she is doing.

Hello,

Yes, the dead & dried out portion on the tail should eventually fall off assuming there is no
infection. That is good news it doesn't seem to be traveling upwards on his tail.
Let us know ow things are going.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
