My bearded dragon had tail rot, I put in WEEKS taking care of it myself and I finally thought it was all over. But I am very unsure now.
The end of the tail is starting to darken, and I'm not sure if thats because of healing or if its rotting again.
I have been soaking it in a betadine solution 1-2xs a day (depending on if my work gets in the way) And I have been covering it in antibiotic after each session. The cage is clean, no substrate- only paper towels.
she still eats like a pig. crickets and veggies (this baby eats better then I do)
Shes just over a year old, but she won't grow much bigger. she came from a bad litter and was the only survivor. Its why I took her in the first place. she needed special 1x1 time.
I know that we all accept pets with the idea that we will ALWAYS take them to a specialist when there is a slight hint of a problem. But My life has changed very drastically since I got them and I want to avoid a 500$ vet bill if possible.
I need someone to confirm what I am looking at and tell me if the rot is back. Is this something I should be concerned about or is it just healing?
