Tail amputation

Hey guys, yesterday I got the news that my bearded dragon will most likely need some of her tail amputated. This comes from and injury that happened 4 or 5 years ago, I accidentally closed her tail in her tank door, but it had been treated with antibiotics and the necrosis didn’t go any further up the tail. But now it has started to grow up the tail, looking back at pictures it has grown in the past year. I can’t pinpoint when seeing as majority of the pictures I have conveniently cut off right before the end of her tail. The tissue right above the black part of her tail is also squishy suggesting that it will continue to grow. Has anyone had their bearded dragons tail amputated? I know it needs to be done but I just want to hear other’s experiences with amputation.

Sorry to hear it, can you post pics of Oscar's tail ? If you type tail amputation in the search bar you'll find people that have posted about their experiences. Everything usually turns out well if you have a decent vet that's familiar with treating beardies or at least reptiles in general.

The place we go to is amazing. They are a big research place and have some of the best specialists in our state. I just scheduled her for July 10th, since there definitely has been growth this past year and I would much rather get ahead of this before it gets worse.

I have questions about bubbles on our bearded dragons eye.

So he’s gotten bubbles on his eye. We wiped them off and it’s only been twice in the last few weeks. Should we be concerned? No coughing or congestion. He’s very hungry and sleeps well. He’s 8-9 month range. His humidity is 30-40 day time and as high as 50-55 at night to early morning.
Should we be concerned?
