T-Rex Burn in?

Whats the burn in like for the T Rex? My MegaRay I burned for like 4 days at around 14 hrs a day. I have a 100watt dome setup pointing off the side of his tank That I can put the Trex in to do the burn in with.

I used the search and didnt find the right info I was looking for.

I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by burn in? You mean how long to leave it on?

A new MVB bulb requires the bulb to be burnt in. The reason is because the first few hours the temps fluctuate up and down in the bulb so you want the temp to stabilize before you put it over your pooper! Hope that helps.

the uv output may be higher for a few days until the bulb is burned in-the temps do not change-A 100wt bulb is a 100wt bulb-I just went through this with the company.

Actually, the MVB's can get hotter on the 2nd & 3rd days but cooler on the first day. So, it's a good idea to burn them in for 3 to 4 days to make sure that the temps have stabilized.

I just went to take my T-Rex out of the socket and there is like a white film that rubbed off onto my hand. Does this mean that I have a bad bulb? or is it safe to use?

If it is around the socket then you are fine!

it was actually on the main bottom of the bulb on the glass part. I wiped it right off, and has not appeared back since. no flaking or dust substances comming from it so im not so sure their was a problem just that I needed to get w/e was on the bottom of it off.

Seems to be ok.. I wiped it down and put it over my dragon and he seems actually in much better shape today then he was this time yesterday.
