About 10 days ago my year old BD got bit in the throat by a hornworm she was eating. She violently spit out the worm. Then she had a reaction to the bite, her throat swelled to the point that she looks like she has a bad case of the mumps. My vet checked her out a week ago and said there is not an infection, and she put her on an anti-inflammatory/pain med.
Just wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen and how long did it take for the swelling to go down? In the past 10 days I've only gotten her to eat 4 wax worms. She was such a good eater, salad, hornworms, superworms, crickets, she'd eat almost everything I gave her. Now she looks so sad and won't eat. I've been soaking her daily so that she stays hydrated.
I'm just worried and feeling helpless. Don't know if there is anything else I can do for her. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
