I found this picture of your beardie on another thread. Your beardie is WAY too young to stop feeding live food. They need LOTS of protein to help them grow and it's also important that they have the hunting instinct. I haven't heard of very many beardies that will even consider eating the pellets. But, you could put a few soft (moistened) ones on top of the greens to see if he will show an interest. Crickets are actually very cheap if you order them online rather than buying from a pet store. Have you thought about raising dubia roaches?
I actually was just talking to a guy who works at petsmart about pellets to add more variety to my girls diet...she is 6 mos. I trust him cuz he owns 3 beardies, a leopard gecko, & a boa. He told me that pellets should not be an option until she is well over a year. He said pellets are good for adding variety to a prodominately veggie diet, not when there young & need proteins.
