swelling on throat

This evening I got back from classes and noticed that Alejandro had some edema under his chin. He does not seem to be bothered by me touching it and he still ate his dinner eagerly. I, however am extremely concerned about it because I would hate for anything serious to develop from this seemingly benign protusion. It is a diffuse, soft swelling. I was about to rush him to vets ER tonight, but since he is active and has a good apetite, I will give it another day or so.

He is about 6 months old now and all of the husbandry is on-point. He has been shedding on his face and neck this week. My first differential is that he may have bumped his chin/neck while trying to rub off his sheds, causing a bit of swelling/inflamation. My other concern would be some type of respitory infection, but he has no visible mucous or fluid. Has anyone seen anything similar to this? Ideas/ suggestions are appreciated!

He looks better today, I think he may have just rubbed it and irritated it. The rubbing combined with the fact that he's been gaining A LOT of weight lately makes me think its a little fat pocket that I only noticed when he was puffing his beard and rubbing his chin frequently (He's my first reptile, so I've never witnessed lizard puberty before). Any feedback confirming that this looks normal would be greatly appreciated!

He looks completely normal to me, BeeGee has that too he started developing that when he reached around 7 months. One of the mods on here told me that it allows them to be able to puff their beards out. Hope this helps.

Tried to post this earlier, seems it didn't go through. Your dragon is of an age that the above post is most likely true. Be prepared for some freaky stuff. He'll probably attack his reflection, puff and headbob at you, get aggressive with his food, etc. You may end up with some minor cuts and bruising, but it's rare. It sounds like you're in med school (Gator Nation), so you should be able to handle a scrape or two
