Surplus of worms, not ready for breeding.

I am going to be getting 1000 super worms for $29.00 here in a day or two and i want to be able to keep them alive long enough for my beardie to eat them but i dont want to breed them yet...I dont have the containers to house them.

What kind of bedding should I keep them in so they wont try to pupate?

wheat bran and as long as they are fed and you dont single them out you should be fine i breed them and i have a bunch in a container that i feed to my animals and the only way you get them to change is by putting them in individual containers so just put them in a big bin with wheat bran and keep them fed and you should be alright

Also try putting a post on your local CL. Since supers cost so much at the petstores and less online you could even flip the extra for some profit.

Well im actually wanting all 1000 of them to feed over time to my beardie.

I work at a pet store and they would normally cost me about $56 with my discount for 1000 but the company were getting them from has a deal for October so im springing for a thousand of them at store cost which is $29.

I use wheat bran as mentioned above and chicken laying mash (non medicated) and potatoes for moisture. If your only feeding one dragon, 1000 may be to many if your not going to breed them. From what I have read around the net, the worms only live 5-7 months at the larva (worm) stage. I breed them as well and can't back that up, cause mine get fed off to 3 dragons, so no left overs. And if you ever pay more than $29 - $36 including s/h for superworms, your paying to much.

lol yea way too much i read that and felt like i was giving them away for the price i sell them for wow but hey when you have no other option then i guess you must do what you have to do
