I have a dragon named Mr. I've had him for about a month and a half or so. I got him from a reptile show and also got crickets with him. I havent had the best luck with crickets so im trying to get him on Superworms. I got 250 Superworms. He is almost 11 inches and we are not positive how old he is. If anyone could tell me that would be great to. Do I need to cut the Superworms heads off? I have NOT had the best luck with cricket care since im pretty hands off. I've been feeding him crickets for the last 2 days. He pooped fine yesterday and the day before but seems to be having a little bit of trouble today. I gave him a warm bath and massaged him belly a few minutes ago too. Thx

Superworms are ok as a treat but I wouldn't offer a ton of them. They can be unhealthy in large quantities. You don't have to cut their heads off when you offer them though and they're fine to include in a varied diet. If you're looking for a staple to replace crickets I would look into roaches. They are MUCH easier to care for than crickets and a lot more hardy. Black soldier fly larvae and silk worms are also good options to include in the rotation.

Im living with my parents and im NOT allowed to have roaches... If i feed him like 3-4 a day and he eats his veggies is that ok?
He's VERY good with eating veggies for his age.

That's too bad about the roaches. Since he is still growing he will still need lots of protein. 2 bug meals per day all he wants in about a 10 minute window. If you are going to focus on a worm for a staple I would look into black soldier fly larvae. They are small but relatively healthy. You can offer supers once in a while but no more than a couple at a time. It's great that he eats his veges. The more the better on those.

Wow he's a nice looking dragon! He still looks relatively young so I'd guess maybe 6 months (ish?). Still has some growing to do. I'd keep a close eye on that tail and have a vet check it out if the shriveled area starts to travel further up. If it stays as it is, then it shouldn't cause a problem though. Probably a nip from a tank mate at some point.

That is him when i first got him- I got him from an expo and the seller told us about his tail. he had tugged it or did something by his rock. He has shed his belly and it looks like he is going to start shedding his mouth ill upload a current pic

Yeah that looks much better. The tail looks like it has healed over completely and should be just fine. It does look like a shed is starting around his mouth too. Look for eye bulging to happen if that shed area gets around the eye. They do this to loosen skin in the area. It looks terrifying but its totally normal for them.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
