is it possible to cut them in half and feed to dino, if they are about 2 inches long thats way to big. if not no biggie but i was gonna get like 25 added to an order of crix and see if he liked them ,will wait to hear back before ordering anyhting. thanx

you should order mealworms with your crixs instead. you can order them in what ever size you need them and there half the price of superworms.

Dont order mealworms, they do not have great nutritional value for there size. They have also been reported to cause impactions.

yea im not fond of the impaction idea, have fed him a few meal worms and he likes them but not willing to risk him getting hurt, that why i asked about the supers, did not know if they would die as soon as i cut them in half or what not, have cut a few crix in half cuz the petshop gave a few huge ones so i just cut in half they still walked around and that was enough for dino to eat them, any idea?

I forgot to ask how big your dragon is, most people recommend waiting till your dragon is close to 16" before feeding them. Small dragons have tons of kinks there digestion track and the shell can get stuck in them.

Silkworms are nice, but are not easily breedable. Roaches are the best due to the ease of breeding and the high nutritional content.

oh i was not aware of the outter shell being a problem, my guy is at about 9 inches id say give or take a little bit. I want to go with roaches but cant afford it right now, so i will be waiting till we move to another place to look into those.

Pheonix worms are great, they're the only thing Nef will eat. They're small, soft, and high in calcium. I just need to find a better way of getting them. as of now I'm not lving at my house and Im brining some home on a ferry once every 2 weeks :p

I was wondering about cutting superworms in half as well... We took Wally to the vet yesterday, and she recommended trying supers when we told her that Wally was being a bit of a picky eater. We got the smallest ones that we could find, they're only slightly longer than the space between his eyes. We have only fed him a couple so far, and now after seeing that supers should only be fed once BD's get bigger, I'm wary of feeding him any more. However, I'm wondering if it's possible to feed them in halves, because it would be great if we could avoid wasting any more feeder insects than we already have.

Also: does anybody know of places to buy phoenix worms in Canada?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
