Superworms food/bedding question

I just got my first batch of superworms in last week and just read up on how to actually take care of them today, tsk tsk I know lol. I read about using oatmeal and corn meal as bedding/food and also about putting in carrots for moisture. Today I came home on my break from work and cut up a baby carrot and placed it in there, however by the time I got home five hours later they had eaten all of it. So am I supposed to keep carrots in there at all times? I guess I could just put in maybe two a day or is that too much? I'm thinking because they haven't had any moisture since I got them that is why they ate the carrot so quickly. I cut up 1 1/2 baby carrots and stuck them in there tonight because I changed their bedding.

Another question I had.....I did grind up the quick oats that I bought and microwaved them for about 30 seconds but I forgot to microwave the corn meal that I bought and had already put in half the worms before I realized this. I've heard of the grain mites you can get, does anyone have a photo of what they look like? I have the worms in a kritter keeper so it's well ventilated so I don't think it should have high humidity like containers with the screens.... any suggestions?

I keep my supers in a 7qt tuperware container with whole oats as bedding, and I toss in a 2 quarters of an apple inside for food and moisture. I tried using carrots but I found that they dried up really quickly and I didn't notice them eating it, rather eating each other.
I have heard wheat bran is the best bedding for supers, but I have yet to try it myself.
