Superworms as staple?

My 8-9 month old beardy has gotten really picky with his food and decided he now hates reptiworms and crickets.
Can I start feeding superworms as a staple? If so then how many a day? My dragon is exactly 16 inches btw!
He also likes dubia roaches but my colony is fairly new so I'm still not feeding those.
They get so stubborn sometimes!

Many people have used supers as a staple but its really easy to overfeed them and end up with a fat dragon. Many dragon will also decide they want nothing to do with other food once they start on supers.
For your dragon, 10 a day is max. As a adult, 5 a day. Have you tried dubia? They would be a much healthier choice.

I don't even like seeing 10 a day fed. You can feed them, but they will be far from a staple at least until your dragon is done growing. Your dragon is going to most likely need more live feeders than you can provide from just superworms, so you'd want to feed a few superworms, and then feed him dubias from your colony to meet the rest of his protein requirements for the day.

Of course you don't need to use dubias from your colony, you could use any other healthy worm such as Silks or butters. Even crickets will work.

I dont want to feed from my dubia colony since I dont have a whole lot and Im still waiting for them to breed but as soon as they bloom im deff feeding them as staples and I used to feed reptiworms but he decided to hate them same with crickets. So yup Im getting frustrated. Ill probably just try crix again and see if he likes them.

Just buy more dubias to help boost the colony or to help jump start it.

Yeah so today I actually found he does likes them reptis but hes such a lazy as and decided to wait for me to tong feed him.
Anyone know any advice on breaking that habit?

Put them in a dish they can't escape from and leave them. If he gets hungry he will eat, as long as you cater to him being lazy he has no reason to change.

Thats what I do I leave them in a small bowl and I know he sees them but he rather starve for 3 days (hes healthy and hasnt lost weight) than eating them by himself. At least he touched his salad on his own today.

Im using a stainless steel bowl. Could that be it that maybe he sers himself in his reflection and decides not to go eat them or that they dont look as apealing to him?

So I changed his bowl and he ate everything no problem .
Now my question is, at 9 months should I still be feeding him as much in a period of 10-15 mins twice a day or should I start changing his schedule?

At 9 months he still should be eating a lot of protein, 6 or 7 supers a day isn't enough for him so you will need to supplement in other feeders too.

We personally just keep filling his bowl with the dubia or repti worms and he does his business. We keep track and he eats a good amount.

We had the SAME issue with the bowl. He wouldn't eat from anything he could see through. Once we switched bowls he was fine

You're talking about the reptiworms now, right? Not supers?

Yeah Ill just feed reptis and occasionally some supers and when my dubia colony grows ill use them as staple
